A new healthcare centre
Delivering healthcare solutions for Woodford Halse, and surrounding villages
At Bloor Homes we understand the need for infrastructure to be delivered alongside new homes.
That is why we are proposing to build a new medical facility for the community, of which Byfield Medical Centre are supportive to relocate to. We understand how important this medical facility will be for Woodford Halse, Byfield and many other neighbouring communities. It will reduce the strain on existing healthcare services and improve wait times. This will result in greater access to medical services for new and existing residents with the facility being conveniently located close to existing Woodford Halse residents.

Reserved space
More spaces for the community
The proposals also include space specifically reserved for:
- Provision for an Early Years building.
- Public transport/community facilities.
- Enhanced public footpaths and cycleways.
- A meditation area and community orchard.
- Nature rich woodland areas with walking routes for the community.

Infrastructure
Implementing community infrastructure
In addition to these plans, Bloor Homes recognise the need for further investment into local infrastructure. Below, we have outlined a clear step-by-step guide to how investment in local infrastructure will be addressed.
Step 1
Assessing infrastructure needs
Prior to submitting a planning application, we will conduct thorough assessments of local infrastructure in Woodford Halse, including roads, public transport, schools, healthcare and other essential services. This work will help us to ensure that our plans are well integrated into the local area without placing undue pressure on local services.
Step 2
Agreeing on infrastructure improvements
Based on our assessments, we will work closely with West Northamptonshire Council and service providers to agree the necessary improvements. Some of the ways we could address these include:
- Contributing to local services: This could include funding towards the expansion of local schools and healthcare services in order to ensure that they are able to handle the additional impact arising from our scheme. The nature of this investment would be guided by advice from these organisations to ensure its effectiveness is maximised.
- Improving transport links: Though the site is well-connected, we could enhance local roads. This might involve road improvements, adding traffic-calming measures and creating dedicated cycling lanes. We could also work with public transport providers to improve bus services.
- Enhancing green infrastructure: The development could provide funding to improve existing green spaces or identify land onsite in order to create new recreation spaces for the community to enjoy.
Our conversations with service providers will also be informed by the feedback that we receive from the community during our consultation. Understanding what matters to the community will help us to positively shape these plans.
Step 3
Submitting the planning application
With a clear understanding of the required infrastructure improvements, we will submit a planning application to West Northamptonshire Council. This application will detail how we plan to address infrastructure needs.
Step 4
Planning review and decision
Once we submit our planning application, West Northamptonshire Council will review our application and our proposals for investment in local infrastructure. They will also seek input from relevant bodies, such as the NHS, National Highways and local education providers, to ensure all relevant considerations are properly addressed. Should the council or statutory consultees require any changes to the proposals, these will be discussed and agreed upon before proceeding.
Step 5
Implementing infrastructure improvements
Any approved plans will come with legally binding agreements on infrastructure funding, ensuring that this is provided where it is needed. The planning permission will set out clear trigger points for this funding, ensuring that vital local infrastructure improvements are made in a timely manner, directly benefiting the community as the development progresses.
